Whatever the nature of your Chinese language needs, Express Language Solutions has a specialist Chinese translator or interpreter for you. We work with a network of 3500+ accredited linguists who cater for over 150 languages.

However, it is important to know which main dialect of Chinese your client speaks. Chinese is best used as an adjective to describe someone from China, not
the language: Mandarin or Cantonese are the main language dialects. Standard Mandarin Chinese, or Putonghua, is the national standard spoken throughout all of China. It is most similar to the Beijing dialect. However, because the difference in dialects is based on the inflection and intonation which is so characteristic of the Chinese language, there are still some intelligibility issues that only a trained Mandarin translator or interpreter can work through. Mandarin is spoken throughout the North and Southwest of China.

Cantonese is spoken in the southeast of China (the Guanxi and Guangdong regions, specifically), as well as the SARs Hong Kong and Macau. Although both
dialects are of the same language, a Mandarin and Cantonese speaker would not be able to understand each other, such is the difference!

When booking a Chinese translator or interpreter, it’s important to keep in mind these two variants. Our Chinese interpreters have vast experience working across theprivate, public and voluntary sectors.

Our recent telephone interpreting projects include fact-finding missions in Singapore, arranging medical appointments and telephone conferences between the solicitor and the client.

Interpreting appointments include interpreting during medico-legal appointments; at schools; probation offices; in various courts of law; interpreting for business meetings, seminars and events. In the public sector, we have a long history of providing interpreters for housing license agreements appointments; family meetings with schools; GP appointments, etc.

Our translation services, on the other hand, have been commissioned for translating contracts; annual reports; marriage certificates; divorce certificates; marketing material etc.
