Ndebele is one of the 11 official languages of the Republic of South Africa and has two variants; Southern Ndebele and Northern Ndebele. Southern Ndebele is an African language spoken by the Ndebele people of South Africa. Northern Ndebele (or Sindebele) is spoken by the Ndebele people of Zimbabwe and Botswana, and is essentially a dialect of the Zulu language.
